How to Use the WSRP Portlet ?

Hi friends ,

i have to do 2 liferays portals .
The first as a server portal that expose a remote portlet based on web serives and the second as a client portal that contains a portlet cosumer for the portlet producer ( the remote portlet of the server liferay portal ) ,

when I searched about the solution , I find that WSRP can help me ,

MY question is : How to use the wsrp portlet ?

Hi Houssem,

Are you using Liferay Enterprise Edition (EE) or Community Edition (CE)? Only EE will support WSRP. For additional information take a look at the WSRP FAQ in the Wiki.

I use Community edition , but I already downloaded the WSRP Portlet from the additionnal files page,so I have a CE with WSRP Proxy Portlet , I can't use it ??

Hi Houssem,

You can use the plugin you downloaded, but I don't think it supports WSRP 2.0 and may discover other issues. If the plugin works for you, then by all means use it. If you need a supported WSRP solution, then you'll need to use EE.

Hi Houssem,

Just wanted to follow up to let you know that Liferay 6.0 CE will support WSRP.

Thiago answers a few questions regarding the support in 6.0 in this thread.
