Liferay 6 in production

Hello,

This is my first post. I reccently discover Liferay because we are starting a project with this portal in my company where I'am working. The project will be in production in 8 months and we will use an entreprise edition. Do you think that it's a good idea to use liferay 6.0. This version will be stable (is it the one mentioned for the 16 april) ?

Hey Julie,

If you are planning on using enterprise edition in production I would start the development with latest enterprise edition. It is the most stable version and if you run into any problems during development you can get support for it. Liferay 6 is still under heavy development.

Hi,

the Liferay 6.0.1 is available but it's a release candidate, to see if there is any bug. And you should wait until 6.0.2 (the GA release) to use it in production.

first of all, thank you for the news.

Do you have any knowledge about when the GA Release will be available?
Our customer wants to use the newest Liferay CE Version, but of course the one who is thought for production use.

Hi All,

Can anybody suggest which version of Liferay is suitable for Production environment .
As I have a list of version which are as follows :
liferay-portal-jboss-6.0.2
liferay-portal-jboss-6.0.1
liferay-portal-jboss-6.0
liferay-portal-jboss-tomcat-4.2-5.2.3

Operating System --> windows 2008 - 64 bit

You should wait for the 6 GA release for any production deployment. If you think you don't have the expertise and resource to manage a community edition in production, I would recommend that you consider Enterprise options by contacting Liferay sales.

Latest is 6 RC 2 (6.0.2).
