Caching Engine
I'd like to see the Caching Engine become a bit more sophisticated. Perhaps an integration with Squid??
Anyway, on to what I'd like to see...
Configuration per instance from the control panel -
Ability to have multiple cache servers per Liferay instance.
Ability to pick out portions of the page to set as static (set to update manually) - idea for stuff that changes once in a blue moon like logos.... CSS files...
Ability to pick out portions of the page to update on a given time frame (15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, etc.) - good for things like blog aggregators, calendar, etc.
Ability to pick out portions of the page to update on a change - (only to be fetched from Liferay in an "on update" - Liferay notifies cache servers to fetch and serve new file) - good for things that don't change all that often but do change - like semi-annual event
I see some kind of "Cache" tab on the portlet options where this could be configured as well.
