Description
Position is located in the Web Technology, Portal, and Content Management Support Team within Systems Engineering in the IT Department. Position is focused on administering an enterprise Liferay Portal system: installation, configuration, testing, performance analysis, providing upgrades, and developer team support.

Accountabilities
  • Provide 24x7 technical support for the Liferay Portal system and is responsible for supporting key infrastructure systems to provide services for intranet and Internet web sites.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be cross trained to support other key systems in the Web Technology, Portal, and Content Management Support Team.
  • Assist with vendor relationships and problem management with internal end users, management and enterprise support teams.

Qualifications Required
  • A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related technical field. Strong applicable experience (a minimum of 6 years direct core systems infrastructure experience) may be taken into account in lieu of a degree.

  • 3+ years experience in enterprise web application maintenance, administration or development. Experience to include configuration, debug and management of products and infrastructure support.
  • Programming experience should include one or more of the following: Java, JSP, C, C++, C#, .NET, ASP, Perl, PHP, Cold Fusion, or other modern programming languages.
    Experience with Unix/Linux based operating systems, including software installation, management procedures and shell scripting.
  • Advanced communication skills.

Preferred
  • 5+ years Liferay Portal or other enterprise portal platform.
  • Experience with managing and configuring Ant, Maven, Tomcat, Eclipse IDE and Apache HTTP server.
  • Knowledge of SQL or Oracle PL/SQL relational databases, Siteminder SSO and Web Access Management, LDAP, Ehcache/distributed caching, and Redhat Package Manager.
  • Knowledge of SOA, SOAP, Spring, Portlet API, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web site design principles.
  • Configuration and change management, following deployment procedures, and the ability to debug and review the work of others.
  • Ability to provide developer support and training on Liferay Portal and Portlet API.
  • Hands-on experience providing application server support, including patching, service pack implementation planning and deployment, version upgrades, clustered/high availability architectures, HTTP servers, application servers, databases/SQL, and general information technology infrastructure components.
