Pandoc image errors generating epub documentation on windows

Hi,

I'm trying to build 6.2 epub documentation on Windows 8.1. I'm able to generate epub but without images due to a pandoc errors.
I have installed the following tools:

Ant: Apache Ant(TM) version 1.9.1 compiled on May 15 2013
pandoc: pandoc 1.12.1 (win package downloaded here)

I have created build.denis.properties and customized the following properties

pandoc.app=C:\\Users\\denis\\AppData\\Local\\Pandoc\\pandoc.exe

from devGuide directory, after executing ant markdown-to-epub-win epub it's successfully generated
but without images.

I've tryied changing/modifing os.windows property adding, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1wihtout changes.

Does anyone has suggestions how get it working ?

Hi Denis,

Thanks for pointing out this issue. The solution is to run Pandoc from the

liferay-docs/devGuide/build/en

directory to make sure that the relative image paths are correct. To manually run Pandoc to convert the markdown to epub, you can navigate to

liferay-docs/devGuide/build/en

and execute

pandoc -f markdown -t epub -o en-lp-6.2-devGuide.epub en-lp-6.2-devGuide.markdown

.

I've updated the Ant markdown-to-epub target to use the exec task's dir property to specify the directory from which the command should be run: https://github.com/sez11a/liferay-docs/pull/782. This should be merged into liferay-docs master soon.

I tryed ot fix it and I've created a patch and a related pull request https://github.com/liferay/liferay-docs/pull/47 .

I've created pull request directly to liferay-docs project, probably it was better to pull to your forked repository, sorry .

Hi Jesse, not at all.
About documentation contributions I would like to share with you that it was a bit difficult for me to find the "Documentation" forum thread.
IMHO Documnetation forum category it's actually "too nested". I think it could be moved some upper level or at least added in the "A. Liferay's Community" description.

BTW, I was looking for a documentation "hot-to contribute" or guideline to know how to correcly use JIRA, Forum, or Github but I didn't find it. Does it exist?

I agree that the Documentation forum category is nested fairly deeply. I'll check to see if it would be possible to move it higher or at least update the A. Liferay's Community category description, as you suggest.

Regarding a How to Contribute document, there's a README.markdown document that's displayed when you navigate to the documentation repo on Github: https://github.com/liferay/liferay-docs. At the end of this document, there's a section on how to contribute.

Good idea - we're going to update the How to Contribute guidelines and then post a sticky message pointing to https://github.com/liferay/liferay-docs#contributing-documentation.

By the way, notice the new home of this category: Home -> Liferay Documentation. : ) Maybe we'll get more traffic now.
