Not able to configure LDAP

Hi ,

I am just trying with SO. When I opened the LDAP configuration page, a javascript error is thrown saying 'Expected Identifier, String or number'.

When I try to test LDAP connection, another javascript error 'Object Expected' is thrown and no other error message in the interface and it seems the test is not success.

I am trying to connect with iPlanet.

Can you guide me.

Hi Ramesh,

You may try this LDAP server first:

ldap://docs.cignex.com:10389
ou=users,ou=system
uid=admin,ou=system

where you can see how Liferay is working together with LDAP. Afterwards, you could use your own LDAP server - to identify the issues.

I just tested Liferay 5.2.3 with LDAP. It works .... See attachment

It seems the issue is with IE7. It works with IE8 & FF3.0.

One more thing I want to ask.
Is there any option to get the Contacts(Address book) of the user and display.
If it is not how can I integrate?

We're creating a Contacts list for the next release of Social Office. Do you have an existing Contacts list in mind or do you mean a new Contacts portlet?

I meant, getting the contacts list from an exchange server.

How the contacts list in the next release of SO will work? Is it a list of contacts created and maintained by SO only?

For the first iteration there will not be exchange integration. However, if you have any insight into how such an integration could/should work, please let us know.
