Hiding a portlet from specific community users

Hi all

Can anyone please point me in the right direction with following issues I have ... maybe for of you guys that have been using LR for a while this question is simple ... I am very new to LR and I need to get a proof of concept done soon.

Thus is it possible to hide a portlet on a page if a basic user on system has NOT even permissions to view the portlet.
I dont want the portlet to been seen by a basic user of a community however for others yes.

Is this possible and if so how do I go about doing it, moreorless.
