customize failed login attempts behaviour

Hi, I found that the failed login attempts count will be reset once the user has successfully login (after failed login attempts), is it possible to customize it to, reset the failed login attempts count when user log out ? I want to show "Last Login Attempts" to user, I still havent got the any clue yet, any directions or hints is appreciated for the customization. thanks
