Weather Portlet Service is Down

Liferay Weather Portlet uses Google Private API, which is now closed few days back. and the portlets stops working to save the preferences or Display any results.

Should have set priority to "critical" because weather portlet which is part of liferay is not working.

Personally, I'm not sure why these portlets are bundled with liferay instead of just being made available as a plugin so they can more easily be updated or replaced with better plugins.

That said, thanks for creating an issue. :-)

Hi All,

This has been fixed as per issue http://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-29542

Can anyone please suggest to proceed further to apply fix in our environment. We are using Liferay 6.0.4 CE.

Seems the url was changed to use worldweatheronline. Has anybody checked the fixed to see if it's working as expected?
