Calendar Portlet Event Fix

I posted an bug in jira (LEP-5955) a while back. Basically If you have a repeating event and it falls on a holiday, you are unable to delete the specific occurrence of the event on that day. If you look at applications such as Mozzila's Sunbird, Franklin Covey's PlanPlus, or Microsoft's Outlook, you are able to delete one occurrence out of the repeating event. If I do this in Sunbird and export the calendar file and import it into Liferay's Calendar Portlet it does not handle this correctly. I find that it makes the calendar portlet not useable because I have this happen a lot with my events. What does everyone else think?

I'd like to see a complete rework of the events system so that events have scope and you don't have to edit the portal-ext.properties file and restart your whole dang server to change event types.
