Include Web Content as part of Page Layout

I have seen many posts and forums on embedding the web content as part of the Theme and which works wonderful to me.

I have a scenario where I want to add the Web content as part of the Page Layout(layout plugin) and I tried the same way as for the theme but doesn't help me.

Can someone help me on how to achieve this.

It's possible to do that from GUI. Just select Manage -> Page. select "Web Content" as a type.

This should give you a clue to what needs to be done.

I don't see web content as a type in Liferay 6.1
