Role Permission

Hello,

I am using liferay 5.2.2.
we have a role named 'Organization Administrator' and as you know this role has a type named 'Organization'.
roles could have one of 3 types : organization, community, regular.

i have a wiki on a page.
i want to grant permissions to 'Organization Administrator' Role on this wiki.
but when i click on configuration-> permissions in my wiki object i could see there is only listed roles which have type of regular or community.

So my question is that how can i make organization roles selectable in the table of wiki permissions?

HI Amir,

i want to grant permissions to 'Organization Administrator' Role on this wiki.

"This is something like ask rent to landlord"

"If person X is an organization administrator of Organization Y" - Means First of all Person-x is member of that organization and then he/she is organization admin.

"What does mean of Organization admin " : He has all rites(Delete ,Update , Edit , Add) on all portlets which are placed on respective organization's page(s).

Now if you are at organization's page and moving to permission of any portlet : - It will display all regular roles and roles having type organization plus organization members.(It will not display any community roles and of-course not organization administrator role )

Now if you are at community's page and moving to permission of any portlet :- It will display all regular roles and roles having type community plus community members.(It will not display any organization roles and of-course not community administrator role )

Now if you want to make some restriction on organization by you can create either regular role or organization role and you can see those list at organization page only.

your answer is so complete.
i created a regular role and i want to make a query on database to grant this new role to all of users
who already have the role of 'organization administrator' but:
when i make a select query on users_roles table there is a wondering thing:
i already removed some users roles from control panel but related records in users_roles table steel exist.

what is happening?
and how can i grant the new role to all users with a special role?

Hi Amir,

I would always prefer that use user interface for remove something or add something

if you do it from DB it will be more error prone.

I am amir not amit

i have some users who have the role of 'organization administrator'
they are not member of a same organization or community.
and i want to grant all of these users a special role which i created it newly.

Hi Amir,

You have created one role.

You can simply apply this role to all these user as user can have multiple role.

am i going on wrong track ?

I know this, but i have a lot of users and it is a huge work to grant them one by one.

Hi Amir,

Ok lets do one thing

Step 1) Create one user group assign this UG to your organization.

Step 2) Assign your special role to that UG.
