can i give created user, a already created user group ??

I create a user account using "Create Account" in sign in portlet.
Can i assign a user group to this created user by default???
Please help.

Yes you can do that.

Go to Control Panel --> Setting --> Users --> Default User Associations
and provide list of user groups that you would like newly created user be part of.
After this settings applied, when you create any new user it will automatically assigned in provided user group.

You can apply this settings on existing users as well.
Just checked "Apply to existing users" and changes take effect the next time a user signs in.

thanks Tejas. It works fine. But the user that was created to provide default user groups, is not viewable in users category.
The admin is not able to do changes in that.

It should be visible. Please make sure none of the search filter is applied in Users.
And also try after Reindexing search indexes
from Control Panel --> Server Administration --> Reindex all search indexes.
