Staging - 6.0 - Staged Portlet

By default, you'd expect that when Staging is enabled, most portlets (which provide a Portlet Data Handler) would be staged.

This is true in most cases. But in some cases you don't want this. For instance, Message Boards and Wikis don't always work well in a Staging environment, since you want end user participation. Social Collaboration portlets don't generally work as effectively in Staging. So, by default these are not Staged.

So what does this mean?

Not Staging a portlet means that it's data won't be published along with other staging portlet data.

How do you recognize whether a portlet is staged or not from the UI?

With Local Live Staging, when a portlet is not staged, if you view the portlet in the Staging environment it will produce this message at the top:

With Remote Live Staging, when a portlet is not staged, it will produce this message at the top:
