Liferay Portal 6 Release Candidate Released

Just released Liferay Portal 6 RC. It inclues a ton of bug fixes, included more of the plugins (workflow, etc.) that were not ready during Preview, and the new 7Cogs sample data. Go here for a full list of changes.

Hi I was testing liferay 6.0.1. To see strucute or template, when you press on Launch Editor give error "failed to retrive content". Any idea?
Also one can not create new content with Launch Editor.

Fixed in SVN a few days ago. It was our overly aggressive security settings. We'll have another RC soon to flush out these issues.

Hi all, I recently took SVN updates of liferay 6.0.1.
I come across following problems if someone can explain me.

2) when you add journal article, the status is always 'not aprroved'. How you do approved status. I dont want to implement workflow

3) How do I add validations to structre of journal articale in v6.0.2 as I want to make some fields mandatory and some validations on that before editor saves or update article.

4) Is there any way to select document from document libraroy and then add this document in the text editor so that text of the document will be added to content. Like this content of the document will be in the journal article without link to document.

I tried running of the trunk the other day and as it is lots of plugins wont run due to incompatible changes to the FriendlyUrlMapper interface and the fact that you updated the jstl

We didn't drop Glassfish V3 (we added it). We dropped V2 since that was the older one now.

Can anyone please tell me is there a difference in file system and installation procedure for Life Ray 6.0.1 CE on windows server and Linux based server ? We are planning to buy Linux based server to host Life Ray. Which bundle should we use ?

Hi Varun, thanks. Logically, you can run LF 6 in any servers. But Linux-based server is much better. You can use the bundle (for example, Tomcat, JBoss, etc.) in the server directly. For more details, you may refer to the book:

We ran catalina.sh

Then we ran startup.sh

The problem we facing is "There is a problem with start/stop of CoyoteConnector"

Guys, your team is extremely huge now... and looks you are forced to opensource this Horilla. Because of GPL restrictions of underlying technology; that's funny.

I don't feel you are quick enough... there still is security vulnerability when cached content is provided by session token so that user behind caching proxy can see the session of another user, and I reported it... 2 years ago!!!

1. Image files, JavaScript, and etc., provided with caching HTTP Response Headers such as "expires", AND with "cookie" - theoretically, caching proxies should ignore cookie when caching, but it still doesn't happen
