Customizing the control menu : Possible Category keys

Hi All,

While working with customizing the control panel menu, we can define our entry based on product.navigation.control.menu.category.key property.
The product.navigation.control.menu.category.key property specifies the category your entry should reside in.

I can see 4 possible keys there :
1. Sites (left portion),
2. Tools (middle portion), and
3. User (right portion)
4 . ROOT : What is the significance of ROOT category? Where my entry will be visible, if I choose this category?

Hi ANKIT,

I think you might be mixing two concepts here. There are "Custom Menus" (we get the Personal, Toolbar, Product and User out of the box) and there are also custom Panel Apps that go into this menus. The ROOT category, if I understand your question correctly, would be something that you want to live, for example, in the Product Menu (the left side bar) at the same level as "Control Panel".
