Updating Form Fields when Task is Rejected in a Workflow

Your help is appreciated regarding the following issue

I am using the latest Liferay DXP (liferay-dxp-digital-enterprise-7.0-sp5) with Tomcat server.

I created a form and I applied a workflow on it (the Single Approval Workflow provided by default). After submitting the form, the reviewer of the form rejects it and it returns back to the first user again to update. The problem is that the user is not able to update the entries he entered before. All input fields are read only and the user only has the 3 options (Resubmit, Assign to, Update due date). How is it possible for the user to update the values he entered?
