Adding commenting/rating feature to the image gallery portlet

Currently the image gallery portlet does not support commenting and rating portlet that is supported by the document library portlet.
Any pointers on adding these two features to the image gallery portlet would be highly appreciated.

In the next major release of Liferay, there is a high possibility that image gallery and document library portlet may become one. In that case, you will have the feature that you are looking for. Unless it is really urgent, you are better off not customizing the image gallery portlet at this time.
