Roles in Message Boards

I am admin of Message Boards and I have divided users in 4 organizations. They all must have access to view and edit threads and posts. except one special category (which contains 4 different subcategories one for each of 4 organizations), where members of one organization can view and edit only posts and threads from their subcategory and not other 3. My idea was to disallow everything and start allowing for every organization categories, threads and posts one by one as needed which is highly unpractical. Is there easy way to simply restrict some users privileges for certain subcategories?
