Display liferay slideshow in header (portal_normal.vm) in liferay 6.x

Hi All,
Is there any way to display liferay slideshow in header through template portal_normal.vm in liferay 6.x
I am able to display using IFrame and it works. But I am looking other options other than IFrame.

I solved it by writing slideshow in velocity template and calling it from header section of portal_normal.vm
