portal-ext.properties not loading all properties

Hi,

We have liferay 5.2.2 setup and running using portal-ext.properties. The file is being read and all properties are loaded on
my dev machine but some properties are not being loaded on the live servers. I am viewing the loaded properties in the server administration section. Tomcat has been restarted. This is very puzzling and have not found any posts with similar issues. Please could someone suggest possible causes for this.

Create a new blank portal-ext.properties file and add your old one in one line at a time. You have a non printing character in your file.
