It would be nice to be able to add all of my IM accounts to the chat in Liferay. This shouldn't be that hard since you can probably pull in the necessary code from the open source project - pidgin. I will add a caveat that this should be able to be disabled by the administrator on a per org basis. Not all companies want their people to have outside IM available. Many go to great lengths to block it. It would also be nice to be able to do some branding, community links, etc. in the chat portlet.
