Integrate Liferay with Microsoft Lync Server

Hi Team ,

Is it possible to integrate Liferay with Microsoft Lync Server ? We want to basically provide chat functionality in portlet by integrating with Lync Server .
It would be great if some one can provide any pointer for the same. Any help would be appreciated.

We're currently building up our intranet with liferay and want to integrate MS Lync as unified communication tool within liferay.

and integrate it into a portlet.
