where to start ?

I'm trying to integrate alloy UI to liferay but I don't see how to start doing it, I downloaded and read the API documentation but they just talk about the stuff you can do with it and some examples, I downloaded the zip file and the examples look cool but they look to me like html standalone pages, not related to liferay...

how can I for example show the calendar widget in my page

Note that I'm talking about the Alloy UI widget and not the portlet

I think the widgets are included with liferay. Look under ROOT\html\js\aui\aui-calendar
