Public sector customers to benefit from quick delivery of omnichannel digital experience tools

LOS ANGELES – (January 26, 2016) – Liferay, Inc., which makes enterprise, open source portals, today announced a new partnership with Carahsoft Technology Corp., the trusted government IT solutions provider. The agreement empowers Carahsoft to be the master aggregator and distributor of Liferay products for the U.S. public sector. Carahsoft will act as an extension of the Liferay sales, contracts and marketing teams and will manage all procedures and subscription agreements with government organizations choosing to take advantage of Liferay's portal technology.

Under the partnership, Carahsoft has added Liferay's flagship product, Liferay Portal, to its GSA Schedule and SEWP contracts, enabling Liferay to further expand its footprint in the public sector. Liferay Portal was recently recognized as a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Horizontal Portals for a sixth consecutive year and provides government agencies a scalable, reliable platform for creating digital experiences on websites and mobile apps that are personalized and consistent across all devices.

"We're a firm believer that innovative open source software solutions can uniquely address evolving IT needs within government entities," said Natalie Gregory, Vice President of Open Source Solutions at Carahsoft. "Liferay's portal platform – and complementary product suite – gives the federal market enterprise proven tools to build a scalable, cost-effective solution. Organizations will like how Liferay can help them quickly deliver omnichannel digital experiences, improve employee productivity, and better engage their partners and customers. Carahsoft is excited to make Liferay our new partner in providing comprehensive portal technology to our government customers."

Government entities looking to procure Liferay Portal will benefit from the new Carahsoft partnership because the products are already fully vetted with the federal government. This negates any need for contract negotiation or for individual agencies to read and sign off on separate contracts. At the same time, working with Carahsoft on GSA, or through various other contract vehicles, ensures that all government organizations will attain Liferay Portal at the best price available. The relationship with Carahsoft will also offer public sector customers with a unique, streamlined avenue to incorporate Liferay portal into their existing Open Source infrastructure.

"Partnering with Carahsoft allows Liferay to more quickly bring industry-leading portal technologies to government agencies," said Glenn Saler, Senior Manager Strategic Alliances for Liferay. "Liferay is already actively used within many government organizations around the world, but by partnering with Carahsoft we really want to demonstrate to the U.S public sector that the time to modernize their digital experiences is now. We're excited to put our solutions to work, capably serving the portal needs of the federal market."

To learn more about Liferay, register for "Simply Accelerate Website Development with Liferay Portal," a free webcast on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. (ET) hosted by Carahsoft and Liferay.
