portlet text extends beyond wrapper border

I've created a theme with a wrapper background image. When I add portlet and some text, it extends beyond the border of the wrapper. I've never had this happen before and was hoping somone could tell me how to adjust it. I've played around with several margin settings but nothing has worked so far. The attached screen shot will show whats going on.. thanks

Hitoshi: That's not the same. When a drop down with jquery is happening it can be fixed by changing the zindex priority in the main.js.

My problem is the portlet is displaysing beyond the boundries of the wrapper. I have looked at the css but do not see anything out of place. Firebug shows that section as an aui entry.
