Liferay 7 CE GA5: which version of remote Elasticsearch to use

Hi,

I'm going to install Liferay 7 DXP CE GA5 and with a remote Elastic Search server. I like to know which is the best version of Elastic Search to install.
In the Liferay 7 GA release notes announcement is reported that Community Edition has been tested on ElasticSearch 2.2.2 and it's the only one version reported in the compatibility matrix.

In this article of Developer Network is reported that ElasticSearch 2.2.x has reached the end of life and Liferay GA3 or higher support ElasticSearch 2.4.x as well.

Can you suggest me which version should be better to install?

Use 2.4. The Compatibility Matrix section of the link you posted has this:

Yes, an update/correction makes sense.

Just from local testing when we were prepping the docs, I'd recommend not using 2.4.0 specifically though. I believe we're supporting 2.4.x, and I recall hitting an Elasticsearch bug on 2.4.0 that was fixed on later 2.4 versions. Perhaps that's obvious,. but I noticed that the page you linked says 2.4.0 specifically, when I believe it should be 2.4.x.

I agree, 2.4.x should be better.
(Liferay 7 DXP compatibility matrix reports "Elasticsearch 2.4.x" as well).
