Chat portlet for Liferay 7 / Digital Enterprise 7?

Hi all,
does anybody know what is (or if there is any) the future of Liferay Chat portlet? I can find the app (not completely modularized) in DE7 sources. But is seems the module is not part of the DE7 Tomcat bundle. And also I can't find the app the Marketplace (only for 6.2/EE).

I've found the mention of Sergio Gonzales in https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-63827 comments about removing the component form Collaboration package, but nothing official.

So could someone explain how it is with the Chat in DXP and if it is still supported, how to install the app?

Hi Gustav,
Chat for Liferay DXP should be released soon (hopefully by the end of this month if things go well) and Chat for Liferay 7 CE should be released after Liferay 7 CE GA4 is released since it depends on a change in that release.

Hi, to complete the message of this topic, I'm happy to say that the Chat portlet for Liferay 7 / DXP has been released and could be found in marketplace here: https://web.liferay.com/marketplace/-/mp/application/15184463 .

Liferay 7.0 version is the last one, see the disclaimer in marketplace, below the screenshot: https://web.liferay.com/marketplace/-/mp/application/15392476

Final Version: No new versions will be available for this app. Support for this app will end at the EOSL date.

 

So don't expect any new version of the application.

 

Nevertheless, chat portlet code is available in following folder of github repository:

You can download the code and compile by your own.
