IE 11 Compatibility Liferay 7.0 CE GA1

Hi all,

I am using Liferay 7.0 CE GA1 together with Internet Explorer 11.

I noted the following weired behaviour when using IE 11:

1.) Sign In Portlet behaves strange. The portlet will not forward the user to his login-page.
In fact the "next-page" (confirmation page in case of new user, or intranet page) will appear in the sign-in portlet itself!

2.) Page Column Layout. The Column Layout has no effect when using IE 11.
E.g. the portlets take a vertical ordering, even when a horizontal layout was choosen.

My questions are:

1.) Why is IE 11 not supported by Liferay 7.0 CE ??
2.) When will IE 11 fully supported/tested with Liferay 7.0 CE ?
3.) Which CE version is compatible with IE11 ?? The latest compatibility matrix is only for 6.2 EE version, not CE!

IE11 is supported, but LR7 uses some different paradigms than what has come before.

Have you tried these things on other browsers? We need to know that what you are seeing is broken in one browser but working in another before it can be declared a browser issue.

Hi,

I tested the behaviour of my portal with Firefox 14.0.1 and Chrome (50.0.2661.102) - Everything worked so far.
However, IE 11 behaved really strange during login and also in some logged-in-masks (choosen page layout didnt work).

Does this mean, that the Liferay team will try to adapt to IE 11 in future Liferay 7 CE GAX releases?

I believe the support is supposed to be there - if not, I'd start posting bugs to issues.liferay.com.

I've noticed problems with IE11 as well. However, I saw the same occurrences in Chrome also. On portal startup on the homepage I see two portlets not spin up. I receive "temporarily unavailable".

1) Navigation Menu
2) User Personal Bar

Not sure if I should post to this thread or elsewhere (apologies if I'm posting on wrong thread).

That's a completely different issue and is not related to browser compatibility.

You cannot run Liferay on a JRE, it must be a JDK.
