Problem Building service.xml

I am trying to finish up "USING SERVICE BUILDER TO GENERATE A PERSISTENCE FRAMEWORK" but when I try to build my service.xml file, I do not get a package as the tutorial says. Can anyone explain why this might be happening?

Are you getting any error when you run ant commands to build the service? Can you also include your service.xml file here?

it can be a little tricky to see what's going if you are running the service builder by clickning "build service" . If yours is a Maven project you can instead create a run configuration with the target "liferay:build-service" . When you run this configuration you should get some helpful log messages.
