Deploying Liferay & Other Web Applications

I have successfully tested, installed, updated and migrated liferay to JBoss-4.0.3SP1, however when i tried to deploy the portal I got into a major error. The other applications that were deployed on the production server do not work anymore. Apparently liferay is overriding all the context configurations.<br />I have create the appropriate virtual hosting and all other configurations files but still the Hibernate configuration in Liferay is overriding all other configurations.<br /><br />Any suggestions?
