Liferay not working with WSRP 1.0 compliant other portal server

Liferay consumer is not working with the other WSRP 1.0 compliant producer.
Though the UI gives facility to choose WSRP version, 1.0 is not working.
How to consume WSRP 1.0 remote portlet in liferay.
