Newbie installation
Hi
I am pretty green, and having a start up problem.
I am on Win Vista, and wanted to get a working liferay installation going.
ALL seemed to go as planned untill when I run startup.bat from my Tomcat bin folder.
Tomcat starts up like a dream, and localhost:8080 reports my GlassFish Enterprise server is now running.
As far as I know I think I downloaded LIFERAY bundled with tomcat but when I look at the directory where its installed I cant find any files that wouldmake me think I have liferay lurking in there somewhere. I mean the folders just look a little thin
I installed JAVA EE 5 SDK its a bundle with GlassFish included.
(Java SE Development Kit (JDK) Bundles
JDK 6 Update 13 with Java EE)
Apache Ant (I think its 1.7.1)
And even an IBM JIKE compiler
Should I get rid of the JAVA install, with the glasfish and go back and get Java SE Development Kit (JDK) (JDK 6 Update 13)
that looks more "plain" and try again or what?
I have a wamp server set up that I am completely at ease with, is it possible to download JUST the liferay files somewhere and start working on a portal on that instead?
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Ok
for those pondering on similar issues..
I seems I downloaded the wrong java bundle
removed all, restored the machine, restarted and now doanloding for a second time.
For anyone interested trying our liferay but doing the set up in a simple fashion, I recommend you check out BITNAMI(.com)I hope this install goes through ok
