how to filter the "Asignee" user list in Tasks portlet?

Is there a way that i can filter the dropdown showing users to assign the task?
I need it only shows specific users because it actually shows all members of the site and the main requirement is to be abled to add tasks rapidly... The problem is that shows me too much users and then looking for a specific one is tedious...

I hope that my problem will be understooded ok...
