Restful web service and liferay authentication and authorization

Dear Liferay users,

Suppose if portlets wants to expose some of there functionality using restful web service, how to integrate these restful web service with life-ray authentication and authorization? To be specific, I would like to allow role based access to these restful web services.

And if I try to call one of these restful web services with in a portal how can we use existing login information to access?

Any any approaches with code snippet (I am still a newbie) will be appreciated.
