Release of fix for SYNC-633

Hi,

I'm testing Liferay for my NGO. People are especially excited about Sync as we are currently using Dropbox and would like to have an alternative that we host ourselves. Unfortunately, I believe I'm suffering from this bug - http://issues.liferay.com/browse/SYNC-633. Being new to to Liferay I don't have a good idea how often releases happen. Any idea when the fix will be released?

Liferay really doesn't have a definite release date. Unfortunately, the planned release date often gets rescheduled so it's better not to count on it. The only valid release date is when they actually ship it out.

It seems to be fixed in the master source code. If you can't wait, better to stick with Drop Box.

Any explorer windows that are open while Sync is running will eventually crash with the error in the screenshot if not all closed first. It does not always happen when interacting with explorer windows or when interacting with Sync. There doesn't seem to be any user action that triggers the crash. It does not seem to effect the Desktop instance of explorer, only open explorer windows. When Sync is not running Explorer windows stop crashing.

on the download page only GA2 is available.

Hey guys,

Yes, GA2 let me know that it wanted to update, so I did. Or at least I tried to. The initial update while the old version was still installed seemed to not work very well. Sorry, should have recorded the errors and stuff for you but was a bit busy.

Eventually uninstalled and reinstalled 1.09 GA3. It's working very smoothly. Have not seen the original one I wrote about again. Syncing also seems to be more reliable as well as "Recent Files" getting populated (these seemed hit or miss on GA2).

Gail, it probably would be faster to check if the current build still has a problem if Matthew can download a current executable build. Liferay used to have a daily build which was helpful.
