We are planning to develop a solution based on a portal for a demo purpose which can handle a concurrent of less than 1000 users at a time & later on planning to do it on a production environment using EE/CE editions, I need your assistance for the below query.
-Selecting the edition to go for (Enterprise/Community), which one will suit the requirement better.
-If portlets/modules developed using CE can be migrated to EE later on?
-Minimum Server Hardware requirements, number of servers like separate servers required for App Web & DB or not?.
-DB & LDAP best suited, preferably opensource & with stable & less vulnerabilities(something like mysql & open LDAP)
