Embedded page needs to set a cookie - how to make work?

I'm a brand new user to Liferay trying to set it up as a portal so that a person can access various administrative sites from one place. I'm a network engineer typically and not a web dev at all, so my apologies if my question is off-mark.

I am running Liferay 6.1 using Tomcat and mysql on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit.

I have one embedded page setup so far but I can't login through the portal because the target site wants to set a cookie. The URL is located on a different IP and is a Splunk server. The message I get is:

No cookie support detected. Check your browser configuration.

Is there a way for a non-programmer such as myself to make this work? The end-goal is that I would enable SSO so the user could login to the portal once, and have the authentication passed to all of the various sites that actually contain the data they want to access.

Thank you Hitoshi, I feared that was the case.
