private pages utility ?

hi guys, plz can someone explain me the utility of private pages? and in which case do we use them?
is any user of the portal can create his private pages?
can aministrators of the portal acess to any user's private pages?

Private pages are akin to your own page in yahoo, etc. It is a place where you, the logged in user, can add portlets and modify the page layout, etc.

You'll only use this kind of thing if you want your users to have their own pages where they can personalize the content.

There's a setting in portal-ext.properties that you can use to enable/disable user private pages. Any signed in user can have private pages and can access them as long as they can see the dock bar.

Administrators can impersonate anyone, so yes they can get to a user's private page.

Organization, site, and user can have public and private pages. Strictly speaking, user's private page is just a site personal page for only an user.
Private page can be used to share information for users belonging to that organization or a site.
