how to suppress automatic browser page when liferay starts?

In recent versions of liferay (6.1 ga1 and ga2 on Windows 7 w/Chrome), when I start it (on localhost) my browser automatically opens a page to the liferay welcom/sign-in page. Is there any way to turn that off?
