SOLR Liferay Integration | Getting search results from custom tables?

Hi,

I have integrated Solr 1.4 with Liferay 6.0 and am able to search and get hits for for keywords that exist in web content.
I have a set of custom tables that I have created in lportal schema to cater to custom requirements. Now I wish to search for keywords in those tables.

The search portlet that comes out of the box in Liferay searches for content within Blogs, web content, wikis, etc. Any idea how I can leverage the same portlet and search for content in my custom tables? What all customizations are required to achieve that?
An example would be great if anyone has done this before.

Thanks,
Gaurish

I am working through the same issue. I have liferay 5.2 SP5 and solr 3.6 setup and working fine. I have setup a second core on solr that has the indexes of the rest of my enterprise content, and am needing to custom the search portlet to search those as well.
