Hello Liferay,

I have very recently become a member of a new Liferay based project which is using
the book Liferay Essentials by Poornachandra, Sarang published by Apress.

This is an older edition and thus there have been many changes.

One of the examples call for using the Journal Content Application.

My question is - What Portlet has replaced this non-existant application.

Thank You
Harry

The web content guys. If you're sticking w/ the Liferay version used by the book, then the change isn't important.

If you're looking to upgrade to a recent version, you've got a lot more to deal with than just what the OOTB portlets are now named emoticon

David,

Using 6.1 - Have a good understanding of portals and CMS.
I realize exactly what you mean but feel the generalities can be understood.
Specifics like what the OOTB portlets are called are not so intuitive.

I am frustrated thus far with Liferay locking up and all my changes being lost
when having to reboot to get started again.

Also one issue - When I add any CMS portlet - I cannot seem to get it
to become functional - just sits there grayed out - no manner of configuration - permissions
seems to work.

Thanks
