Inserting a telephone directory in Liferay

Hi,
Wanted to know if it is possible to insert a telephone directory for your organisation on Liferay community version 6.2.
If so, what are the possible methods to do it : does the data already have to be on a database or does it have to be through active directory?

Either way, what is the procedure to upload it?

There's no special purpose telephone directory OOTB. However, if you click on a user's name in the My Sites Directory, Site Members Directory or Portal Directory portlet, you will see the user's phone number (assuming the user has entered their phone number). If you need something more specialized, you'll need to either customize or write your own portlet.

Hi, Can you explain how to input the telephone numbers onto Liferay?

We have kind of configured a mobile phone directory but are only seeing the names and email addresses as the numbers have not yet been input.

If we are able to put in the numbers, then perhaps they would show on the directory too.

There's no "mobile phone directory" in the portal out of the box, so I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to. However, users can enter their telephone number by:

• Go to "My Account"
• Go to "Account Settings" if it's not already selected
• Click "Phone Numbers"
• Enter their phone number

Actually more precisely wanted to know if admin can put in the users' phone numbers instead of the users' themselves.

That way admin could himself input or change these numbers instead of the non-admin user. Is there such a possibility?
