Poor quality thumbnails in Liferay DXP

Has anybody else run into an issue with the quality of the thumbnails being generated in Liferay DXP 7? I am seeing a lot of pixelation in all the thumbnails - in site memberships, documents and media ... As an example, I have uploaded a screenshot of the site memberships showing the pixelation.

Note that this is Liferay DXP 7 (EE) running on Linux with ImageMagick.

For what it is worth, take a look at https://web.liferay.com/documents/10439/0/VIP_Members_-_Site_one_-_Liferay.png/6f74f042-18c4-4619-ab28-200951d813ae?t=1448969182150 - this is the screenshot from Jorge's blog post at https://web.liferay.com/web/jorge.ferrer/blog/-/blogs/liferay-7-alpha-3 about the Alpha 3 release and look at the photo thumbnails - they look blurry too.

And by the way, with a bundled version of Liferay 6.2 on the same DXP server, with the same imagemagick and ghostscript configuration (as DXP) - the asset previews especially for images are beautiful. See attachment. Looks like a bug.
