I have a pretty small user group with a mixed environment. Primarily our servers run Linux for many of our core applications(CRM, Liferay, and Email). Our users are almost all Windows and I have an active directory domain in place for Group Policy, as well as a couple Windows servers to handle non-Linux applications.
I have an OpenLDAP and Active Directory database. I'm trying to consolidate to just AD for authentication. External users will need a way to change this password, so I was looking to get Liferay password exporting to work with AD. This doesn't seem to be possible. Has anyone had any luck? Using scripts or otherwise?
My other thought was that if I could get all the Linux based applications exporting their passwords to OpenLDAP, then I could just look at a solution for bi-directionally syncing AD and OpenLDAP. Does anyone have a solution that might work there?
