Export/Copy Role Specifications

As Liferay 7 is already in Alpha this may be a bit late for this Proposal, but anywayl:

It would be a really great feature if we could simply copy oder export Role-Specifications in/from our Portal. It's always trouble to transfer Role Specifications (which Role has what Permissions) from a Test Environment to a Production System. Very often two Liferay Environments (test/production) behave different to the Users, just because the Roles used in the Portal are not exactly configured the same way. Currently there is no way to "Stage" Roles or to copy them exactly from one Environment to another.

Furthermore sometimes we need a custom Role whitch is very similar to a standard Liferay Role, but with just a view adjustments. Then it's painfull to note all the Permissions the standard Role has, and then apply them one by one to the custom role. It would be much easier if we could just copy & paste the standard role and modify the new Role as required.

Hey Peter,

I have good news and bad news for you.

The bad news is that as you mention it's too late to add new features that are not already started.
However the good news is that what you are requesting is already part of Liferay 7 (at least partially)

Just go to the Roles management portlet in the control panel and use the vertical ellipsis icon to access Export/Import. You will be able to export roles and their definitions (although it has to be all or none, you cannot select which).
