auto deploy of liferay archives (lar)

Does the liferay/deploy directory support auto deploy of lar files. If no, is there any other way to support automatic import of lar file.

In portal-ext.properties add the line


#

# Specify a LAR file that can be used to create the guest public layouts.

# If this property is set, the previous layout properties will be ignored.

#


default.guest.public.layouts.lar=${liferay.home}/deploy/<custom_lar_file>.lar

Hi Arun,

Thank you for this, however our lar file will have mostly the web content (i.e journal articals content) not sure this would have any thing to do with layouts.

Currently we are auto deploying the layouts and theams using the plugin war approach.

lar approach seems to be confusing.. any good pointers would be of great value from liferay or liferay directly allows auto deploy of lar files when placed in the deploydirectory would also help a lot.

Have you identified an approach for automatic deployment of journal LAR files? We need to implement auto deployment as part of a build process and are trying to identify an approach.
