Change language of web content

Hi All,

How can I change the language of the web content.
I have uploaded web content in English on my site.
When I click on a language other than English ( using language portlet), the content does not get translated to the desired language.
What should I need to do for this thing to work?
I am using Liferay 5.2.2 with tomcat 5.5.

Hello Anand,

To localize unstructured web content use the following steps:
-Create a new Unstructured Journal Article
-Select 'Save & Continue'
-Change the Language to the desired localized language (e.g. Français, Español, etc.)
-Enter localized data
-Select 'Save & Approve'
-Change your language preferences using the 'Language' portlet.

To localize structured web content use the following steps:
-Create a new Structured Journal Article
-Select 'Save & Continue'
-Change the Language to the desired localized language (e.g. Français, Español, etc.)
-Check the 'Localized' check box next to the data elements that are to be localized
-Enter localized data
-Select 'Save & Approve'
-Change your language preferences using the 'Language' portlet.

In a web content what is language and default language.

when I edit a content as spanish and save it.... next time it is shown as espanol (Espana) .. .why is that

Please can you give me the detailed idea about handling this thing.

In Web Content, the default language is the language that will be shown in the user's preferred language is not available. So for example, I may create a piece of web content in English and after saving that web content, I go back in and change the Language field (not default language) to Spanish. I could then add a Spanish language version of that same piece of Web Content. Spanish speaking visitors to the site could then view the content in Spanish and all other visitors would see English. Each time you return to the content, you should be seeing the default language displayed. If you are seeing Spanish, you may have changed the default language by mistake.

I followed the same steps which you mention above , For unstructured web content, its working fine, its changing content language.

But in structured web content, spanish content is coming while changing language as spanish in my portal. when i am changing as english, its giving error like this content is expired, is not approved like ,,,

Can you please help me out from this issue.

thanks for your reply, I done this one, Actually,

we need to follow the below steps, you mention in 2 step need to select Save and Approve, actually you should not select save and approve first, after giving default language and localized language, only we need click save and approve finally,

The steps are

-Create a new Structured Journal Article with checking localized
-Select '''Save & Continue'
-Change the Language to the desired localized language (e.g. Français, Español, etc.)
-Check the 'Localized' check box next to the data elements that are to be localized
-Enter localized data
-Select 'Save & contine'
-Select 'Save & approve'
