error in server while starting

Several ports (8080, 8009) required by Liferay v6.1 CE Server (Tomcat 7) at localhost are already in use. The server may already be running in another process, or a system process may be using the port. To start this server you will need to stop the other process or change the port number(s).

As you can clearly see from the logs, that another java process is using the ports, check using netstat -na for the status of the ports, simply restart the machine if you are not sure what process is using it.
