Liferay cannot recognized redeployed portlet

Hello,

I am working on customizing the web form portlet. I have deployed a previous version and created form configurations. Recently, some changes has to be made to the java code. However after redeploying it (ant -> deploy) using build file, liferay gives me this message:

"This portlet has been undeployed. Please redeploy it or remove it from the page."

I looked through the list of portlets I can add, my portlet is available for adding there. I have not made changes to portlet.xml or any of the other xmls.

The reason I am asking here is because I have a lot of forms and I do not want to lose my configurations. What should I do?
